Yangmingshan National Park is one of the eight national parks in Taiwan, located between Taipei City and New Taipei City. The districts that house parts of the park grounds include Taipei's Beitou and Shilin Districts; and New Taipei's Wanli, Jinshan and Sanzhi Districts. During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, it was known as Datun National Park. The National Park is famous for its cherry blossoms, hot springs, sulfur deposits, fumaroles, venomous snakes, and hiking trails, including Taiwan's tallest dormant volcano, Seven Star Mountain.

The National Palace Museum is an antique museum in Shilin, Taipei. It is one of the national museums in the island nation of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and has a permanent collection of more than 696,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest in the world. The collection encompasses over 10,000 years of Chinese history from the Neolithic age to the late Qing Dynasty. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China's ancient emperors.

The Shilin Official Residence is the former residence of late Republic of China President Chiang Kai-shek located on Zhongshan North Road in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is accompanied by Chinese style and Western style gardens, including Shilin Garden Zone, Garden Display Gallery, European Garden, Oriental Court, and Choral Hall. Some of these gardens have gorgeous plants and rose bushes decorated with artificial stone cliffs and flourished with blooming trees. It was designated a national historical monument.
